9U & 10U FALL BASEBALL
Travel Teams
There will be both a 9U Travel Team and a 10U Travel Team, each of which will participate in the Bethpage Tournament. The 9U Travel Team (players who were 9 years-old on May 1, 2010) will play one game a week on Saturdays, and the 10U Travel team (players who were 10 years-old on May 1, 2010) will play one game a week on Sundays. Practices will be up to the individual team manager/coaches. The rosters for each of these teams will be selected by the manager for each team following tryouts (see below) and project to be in the range of 11 players per team.
Intramural Program
Players not selected to either the 9U Travel Team or the 10U Travel Team may participate in an intramural program, which will depend on people volunteering to organize and coach teams. If we do have enough volunteers, we would anticipate the formation of two evenly-matched teams playing one game a week locally here in Manhasset. At present, we anticipate that intramural games will be on Sundays.
Tryouts
The tryouts will be held on Thursday September 9th at the MHS Softball Field. The 9U tryout will be from 4:30pm-6:00pm and the 10U tryout will be from 6:00pm-7:30pm. Players interested in the intramural program only will not be required to attend the tryouts. We will do our best to accommodate any player who wishes to be considered for either the 9U Travel Team or 10U Travel Team, but is unable to attend the tryouts.
Registration
All players will be required to register online. Please visit www.manhassetpalbaseball.org as soon as possible to sign up. The registration fee for all participants will be $25, which will cover insurance and field maintenance. Players who are selected to either the 9U Travel Team or the 10U Travel Team will be required to pay an additional fee to cover the cost of participation in the Bethpage tournament. Intramural players will also have an additional fee to cover umpires and t-shirts.
Miscellaneous
All attempts will be made to ensure that conflicts with in-season sports (Fall Soccer and the Port Washington football program) will be avoided.
